Spring is here at last. The sun is shining. The city playgrounds are busy again. We badly needed to get out of the house. Johnny ran around like a mad goose. It was incredibly invigorating and we plan to hit some slides and swings again within the hour. I feel great today. 8 weeks to go, 32 weeks gone. Not long now and 3 will become 4. Today seems full of promise. The abundance of hellebores has definitely added to the cheer. When they peek their hardy heads above ground, defying the last lingering chill of winter, it's a minor miracle. For flowers that don't last well once they're cut, they're tough little beauts when left to their own devices. I almost feel guilty cutting them to enjoy so fleetingly in arrangements but I can't resist their rich colour and shy, nodding heads. Just beautiful. Here are a few of my iPhone snaps from a recent shoot with Irish Country Magazine. I finally had the pleasure of working with the brilliant Sharon Hearne-Smith, which was an absolute delight. The fabulous props and styling were courtesy of the talented Pearl from Pearl & Godiva. And I have my gardening guru, Geraldine, to thank for the beautiful hellebores. Incidentally, Geraldine and I are pretty excited at the moment - we have big tuber and seed plans afoot for the coming year. I'll keep you posted.
