Back in October I spent a couple of days in Co. Clare working on the wedding of Whitney and Thomas Voute at Doonbeg Lodge. What an experience. A fantastically stylish and elegant celebration with loads of heart and family. We worked damn hard but it was so worthwhile. Everything came together. Everybody was happy and it worked out wonderfully, despite being fuelled by copious amounts of green tea and a lot of running on empty. Adrenaline aside, I got to work with some fabulous people like the seriously talented Alise Taggart and the amazing photographer Kate Murphy. I even got to stay in Doonbeg Lodge for Godsake, which was Hamptons luxury crossed with Irish craic. Luxurious but relaxed enough to be Irish. Professional with a wink.
Then, at the end of the wedding madness, I waved goodbye to the chicken coop where we arranged the flowers (fact), to greet my little family troop of three boys, including husband. We drove around a rainy Clare for a couple of days, which was just lovely. I miss the west from my college days. A lot. So it was really special to mooch around with the kids and Andrew. And to top it all off, the wedding was featured on Vogue.com
Not bad. Not bad at all. You can see it here
